Defense allows Eagles to hold on for victory
When compared to its offensive counterparts, Tyrone’s defense may have been underrated through its first four games.
The unit was sneaky good, but it’s one thing to be good when you’re ahead by 30.
It’s another to be good when you’re ahead by a touchdown, and the outcome of the game depends on your ability to make a stop.
That’s the situation Golden Eagles defenders found themselves in last night at War Vets Field late in a game against Huntingdon that was much closer than it was supposed to be. With Tyrone ahead 14-6, the one-win Bearcats had the ball at midfield with just over two minutes left and the opportunity to tie a heavily favored rival was out there on the table.
