It would be hard to find two teams more different.
Tyrone (2-2) is a team that over the past four seasons has consistently tried to spread the field and allow quarterback Ashton Walk to distribute the football to a legion of capable receivers who can make plays in the open field.
Bellwood-Antis (3-1), on the other hand, takes a more conventional approach. With an offensive line as good as any among the East Division teams of the Laurel Highlands Conference, they do what the Blue Devils have done seemingly for generations: run the football.
It’s a clash of styles that will be highlighted Friday at Memorial Field in Bellwood when the two teams go head to head in the region’s premier football rivalry. Counting the three games played in the mid-1930s when Tyrone played Bellwood High, before it consolidated with Antis Township, it will be the 75th installment of the Backyard Brawl.
