FOUR DOWNS: PENNS VALLEY

Tyrone’s football team has had its share of ups and down this season, as its 5-4 record will attest, but there’s no denying that the Golden Eagles in 2024 are a team that can score with the best of them.

For proof, look no further than last Friday’s game at Penns Valley. Even before the Eagles had equaled a record for points in a game that had stood for more than 100 years, even before they had ripped off four touchdowns while running just two plays from scrimmage, they had piled up 62 points in less than three quarters of work.

Tyrone won 82-26, picking up its third straight victory and securing a date with Chestnut Ridge Friday in the Laurel Highlands East-West Week 10 crossover game.

Here are four takeaways from the game.
