Series: Until last season, the Golden Eagles and Hilltoppers had only ever faced each other in the District 6 playoffs, but that’s because they had always competed in different conferences. That changed in 2023 when Tyrone joined the LHAC, and in 2025 Westmont cycled onto the Eagles’ regular season schedule for the first time.

The teams first played in the District 5-6 2A semifinals at Gray Memorial Field in 1996, a game Tyrone won 21-6 on the way to a spot in the PIAA championship game. A year later, they ran it back, this time in the District championship game, but it was all Golden Eagles in a game Tyrone won 42-18.

Two more playoff wins followed for the Eagles in 2000 and 2007, and it would then be almost 20 years before the Eagles and Hilltoppers clashed again.

Tyrone leads the overall series with 5 wins and no losses.

Coaches: TYRONE – Jason Jones (1-0); WESTMONT HILLTOP – Josh Rearick (0-11)
