This wasn’t the way Tyrone coach John Franco imagined his team would vault to the top of the 3A standings in District 6.
What Franco was hoping for was a final regular season victory on the road against a 6-win Saint Marys team that could have given the Golden Eagles a real push.
But after it was disclosed late last week that the Dutch had actually purged Tyrone from its schedule 10 months ago without ever sending word to officials in the borough, the best Franco could have hoped for was a forfeit victory.
