When you look at the resume of Bald Eagle Are a coach Jesse Nagle, there’s a lot that jumps off the page immediately. He turned the program in Wingate around in just three seasons, capturing District 6 2A titles in 2018 and 2019. In 2019, his team played in the PIAA final four, and he was named District 6 coach of the year.
But there’s a lot more to Nagle that isn’t seen on the surface. For example, in the late 1990s, when his family was moving to the Centre-Blair County region, they nearly opted for a residence in Tyrone, which would have landed the 2000 BEA grad on the Golden Eagles’ 1999 state championship team.
We talked to Coach Nagle in the days leading up to Friday’s game against Tyrone, and he talked about his team’s development, dealing with high expectations, coaching his son, and his choice not to attend Tyrone.
