Like John Franco, whose name is synonymous with Tyrone football, Tim Janocko is the face of Clearfield football.
After taking over an average program in 1985, Janocko is now presiding over a football empire that has won 11 District 9 championships.
Earlier this season, Janocko registered career win No. 300 in a 7-3 victory over Bald Eagle Area. That puts him in an elite group of 20 active coaches who have gotten to that number, but it has done little to cool the competitive flames burning inside of Janocko. If anything, the career milestone has stoked them even hotter.
We had a chance to speak to Janocko in the days leading up to Friday’s game against Tyrone, and the coach spoke about his offensive line, winning 300 games, and the progress of his team in what many had considered a rebuilding season.
